Today is an exciting one for my 7-year-old daughter, Ellen. She gets to meet the Air Force Thunderbirds and spend some time with them this afternoon. Ellen has leukemia and the Grand Forks Air Force Base has some events planned for her and a few other area children with leukemia.
It’s very kind of the Air Force and the Thunderbirds to take some time to brighten the days of these children who have had to go through a lot of pain and invasive medical procedures during their illness and while on their road to recovery.
I will get to go along on the GFAFB tour with Ellen and plan to take some pictures and hope to write a column about it for an upcoming Sunday Herald.
