After several days of being involved in health issues with Ellen last week, it was a relief to enjoy an uncomplicated weekend at home attending festivities during Larimore (N.D.) Days, going to church and eating family meals together. Mowing the lawn yesterday while my husband, Brian, took Ellen and her brother, Thomas, fishing even was a treat.

     Time spent in the hospital gives me renewed appreciation for simple things like those and others, such as being able to be at home and watch a video with our entire family together.  Ellen, too, was very happy to be home with her brothers and they were equally glad to spend time with her. 

     Today, like last Friday, I’ve been catching up at work, finishing stories and scheduling interviews, and I now feel pretty much back in the swing of things. Here’s hoping these good times continue through this week.
